My eyes flew open, the doctor was walking straight to where my bab\u01b4 was. His hands reached in to lift my innocent son.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I slid off the bed quietly, right beside my bed was a heavy metal drip stand. I grabbed the iron with both hands, not caring about the weakness in my body anymore; adrenaline and a mother’s anger had taken over.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Just as the doctor lifted my sleeping bab\u01b4 into his arms, I raised the heavy iron pole and swung it with all the power I had left in me.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My s\u1ecdn let out a sharp cr\u01b4, but I quickly held him tight against my chest to calm him down. I looked down at the doctor, he was stranded on the floor.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I took a step toward the door, about to open it and run away. But before I could even say \u2018Jack\u2019, a deep, rough voice echoed from the quiet hallway, right outside my door.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Doctor? What is going on in there? The Senator is getting impatient!”<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My goodness! The Senator’s thugs were just outside the hospital ward.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My jaw dropped to the ground, my heart began racing at a thousand miles per hour.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
